K-11 landing at South Weymouth on 11 Feb 1944. K-11 was the 1st K-ship permanently assigned to ZP-11 on 17 Sep 1942. Also known as Blimp Squadron 11, Blimpron 11, or ZP-11, the squadron operated from Naval Air Station (NAS) South Weymouth, Massachusetts; Fisher's Island, New York; and Bar Harbor, Maine between June 2, 1942 and June 8, 1945. Lieutenant Commander Samuel M. Bailey, USN, was the first Commanding Officer of ZP-11. The photographs on this website were copied by Marc Frattasio at the National Archives and Records Administration in College Park, MD and kindly provided to preserve the history of ZP-11 and NAS South Weymouth.
