OBSERVATORIES

This project is building comprehensive lists and maps of the world's cutting-edge telescopes, observatories, and scientific collaborations that relate to astronomy. Along with traditional optical and radio telescopes, this project includes telescopes that capture gravitational wave and cosmic neutrino emissions from objects in the universe. We'll list and map clusters of telescopes that operate as one using interferometry.

We're far along with capturing the geographic coordinates of the telescopes so they can appear on maps. There's a link to a live Google map below.

The next phase is to identify, list, and map the telescope groupings that cooperate on research. This usually involves interferometry, where geographically dispursed telescopes operate as one by combining the data from their observations.
